Since September 2020, the Executive Office of Energy and Environmental Affairs has organized a task force, representing all its agencies, to develop a strategic Environmental Justice Plan that addresses equity and equality, with regards to resources, language access and communication.
MDAR is committed to identifying how we can implement and promote environmental justice principles through policies, programs, hearings, funding decisions, communication, and language access.
MDAR is also committed to work on charting how the fair distribution of benefits and resources have been measured.
To effectively meet this mandate, we are working to update our database to have an accurate account of farmers and affiliates in food systems who identify as Black, Indigenous, People of Color (BIPOC). We are requesting contact information and input with regards to better serving all of our state’s farmers and food system members.
Please respond by November 30th to: Rose Arruda, [email protected], at MDAR.
